Time to start praying,Time to rejoice, Time spent with a mighty God! The beginning of our Adoptions from China!

Psalm 66:20

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love for me!

We have the honor today of introducing our two children from China! Not by photo but by description! God is so good to us! As we introduce them to you, please submit to God in prayer for them and us as we begin our journey.  We are very grateful for your prayers! Thank You!

In October 2013, Marcos, Samuel and I began praying for a sister. We knew her by name and had information, photos and even video. God clearly began a work in our hearts for her. He also began to move some obstacles in order for us to be eligible to adopt her. Adoption can have many twists and turns that must be surrendered to the Lord or our hearts could grow weary.

God can handle any heavy burden, He even asks us to Give it to him..Psalm 56:22 Cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Our little girl will be about three years old. She has special needs that we are at peace with and diligently studying, preparing and our on knees in prayer for. We have no expectations on any of our children in a worldly sense, so please know we have CHOSEN her. More importantly..God has CHOSEN her for our family and we are honored that she has been knit together in her own special way. She is wonderfully made as His word says and we are in awe! We will refer to her as Lana on our blog here as we update you. As we draw closer to the adoption, pictures will come but for now we must wait. Here is a physical description. She is beautiful with fair skin and a ready smile.

While waiting on the Lord for her file and a confirmation that she indeed was to be adopted by us, God made another surprise move. We were humbled and again amazed to be given a referral of a little boy.

Our little boy will also be about three years old. He has special needs we are at peace with and diligently studying, preparing and our on knees in prayer for. We have no expectations on any of our children in a worldly sense, so please know he was also CHOSEN.  More importantly..God has CHOSEN him for our family and we are honored that he has been knit together in his own special way. He is wonderfully made as His word says and we are in awe! We will refer to him as Zee on our blog here as we update you! As we draw closer to the adoption, pictures will come but for now we must wait. Here is a physical description. He walks very well, likes to eat fruit and has the prettiest little lips I think we have ever seen!

My heart sings to God for the changes I have seen in a country I love so much! Twelve years ago, I am sure the very children we will adopt would have been considered unworthy of a family. I am sure of this because I witnessed this myself for almost eight years!

As we are ending the home study process, taking classes, reading books, preparing for Physicians visits and compiling the Dossier...we will also start up fundraising in February! As with our previous adoption we have pinched where we could, collected free-cycled clothes, saved as God led and stayed in prayer for resources regarding adoption. We have Faith that with working hands, generous actions and praying hearts, our God will provide as needed for this adoption as well! We will be applying for grants once our homestudy is done and keep you updated on any and all awarded! We have a series of fundraisers including but not limited to the following:

Family Movie night extravaganza at GB!

Raffles for gift cards, GB wear etc...

Both Hands project through Lifesong...

5K Fun Run...

GB Tournament....

Garage sales...

Silent auction and dinner...

Kareoke night....

Parents night out.....

It's going to be a blast!!

We will need to raise 40- 45,000 to cover all adoption expenses. Please begin praying with us and thanking God in advance for the efforts and resources He has already provided to get us this far and eventually bringing the kiddos home!

Thank you for celebrating with us, praying for us and standing for the fatherless. We are blessed to call you friends and family!

With Love from a Mighty God,
  The Barros Family
Marcos, Jamie, Samuel, Zee and Lana
