It is good to be wrong!

On Wednesday September 21st Samuel officially took the oath and he is holding in his hands a certificate of Citizenship (one entitled to the rights and privileges of a freeman) ! The coolest thing about this photo is the window in the back ground. Marcos and I left in great despair last year after speaking with immigration services regarding our adoption.  The amount of obstacles God has over come for our family to be one is tremendous. Truly there are miracles he loves to perform in our lives and looking back to that very day, makes me smile and worship Him all the more! It is a wonderful feeling to be wrong in this case! I remember the words of the official being something like, " There is really nothing we can do. I dont think you will be able to complete this adoption in the time alloted." I remember doubting that we ever would get through the wait times and deadlines required. I remember thinking we would let our son down.  It is so good to have been wrong. It is so good to have God interceeding on our behalf even when our Faith really is...the size of a mustard seed as it was that very day!

Chicago just isnt Chicago without Uncle Beto and a photo on the Bull!

Samuels Mentor and friend Matt the Fireman..has also Blessed us!

Even before he became official, he found a new flag my Mom had bought and took the iniative to display it! You think that is should see his room!

Not many new Moms get a piggy back ride a month into Mother hood!

Thanks to Dr. Woodruff our brave kiddo has had some much needed work done.

We have been fishing...alot!

Moose is learning that having a boy means more trips to the Park!

A dedicated BJJ Practitioner earns his first stripe!!!

God is in the everyday!

Hello everyone!

Its a quiet afternoon and here I sit alone at the Kitchen table with a vast amount of ideas and encouragement that I really want to convey in one little blog entry! I wish you could see the light in our sons eyes at breakfast and feel the beauty of God's hand in each new day. Jesus has been so real in many days of my life but now, more than ever, I see a sweet generous Lord that rains down healing and so many things I cant even explain.

Do you believe?

Do you really want to know this love?

God loves you so much! He wants to be in your everyday.

He really really does.

Thank You to the many of you praying for us in such a fragile time for us as a family! You remember we are new parents for the first time and first time home schoolers and well, Samuel as a first time son in a family!

Your incredible prayers have lifted us on low days and kept us floating on busy days! All in all, God has been incredibly gracious to us as a new family. We are still after a love and enjoying our treasured teen! We have seen days that appear to be a challenge and at that very moment we open God's word and He reveals real answers. It is true that the King of Kings is in the every day moments of those who seek him. What a beautiful savior and Father we have to help us with the simple everyday.

We are so undeserving of the many Blessings we have been afforded and so overwhelmed by the sweetness of each day together as a family of three. Only God could do something like this..He is simply AWESOME!

Below is a little update of the specifics of what Samuel has been up photos!

Samuel has enjoyed days of fishing, mechanics class, go kart racing, shopping, jiu-jitsu classes, swimming classes, Church Youth group, new friends and daily home school. His heart is full of affection for us and he makes us smile atleast every hour!

Marcos has been the spiritual leader for this family in leading us through God's word daily, praying for us, teaching Samuel BJJ and of course how to fix the cars..which is exactly what they are doing this very moment!

I have been diving into the books to learn the very exciting life of a home school teacher and mom, practicing BJJ, enjoying the GBS students and family, praying alot and well...enjoying even the morning walks with Moose!

We love you..God loves you so much more....Love and prayers,

Treasured Teen

Jeremiah 17:7

But the person who trusts in the Lord will be Blessed. The Lord will show Him that He can be trusted. He will be strong like a tree planted near water that sends its roots by a stream.

Hello Everyone! Hope this little update finds you enjoying the cool breeze we have had all day! Yes it is a beautiful Labor Day. One month ago we awoke to glimpse the miracle of our sons homecoming. God is so so so good. Samuel has been home one month and one day. He continues to laugh, play and learn so much about us and we do the same. Adopting a teen is again to us a greater joy than we could have imagined. Thanks be to God. Your prayers have been raining down in many days of transition and "newness" for us as a family. We are very grateful!

We are really getting to know the differences and common ground that melds us together as a family. Its really beautiful to have so much time in our daily life to learn more and for our students, friends and family that have helped us gain this time we are also very thankful! For those of you who have not adopted a teen or any older child yet, I was told Its kind of similar to bringing home your new baby from the hospital and getting all those days to figure out what they need and how they communicate. We are enjoying every minute and hope to share more with you soon!

One of the really cool things that God has done for us as husband and wife on many occasions is to remind us that we need to rely on Him. We need to pray for one another and our son. Also, reading the book of Proverbs as a family has really made a difference on how we treat one another and even how we start our day. I would encourage this for any family! Its really awesome how there are 31 days often in one month and 31 Proverbs too!

Thank You for one month of support, love and prayer ! We can already see the amazing healing that only God could orchestrate in our son's life! We love you and miss you!
