A day in the Son

Hello everyone. Today was cool. It was warm outside enough for a walk or stroll but it was also a very, "cool" day. Today we got an email from our son! How cool is that?! Before I share what it said I want to ask you something. Will you imagine with me that tomorrow when you wake up your whole life will change? I need you to close your eyes and decide that tomorrow you will choose the one thing that will change everything. I will tell you what that is in just a minute..here is the letter...

 Dear mum and Dad,

Hi Mom and Dad as you have dealings, how are you? I'm all right we also have snow and ice on roads make it hard to walk. I'm bored and want to see you sooner. Hello everyone, I miss you. I love you very much.

your son,
 -----

Come to Church with us tomorrow. Or ask God to draw close to you now, believe in His love, power to forgive you and heal you. I want everything for my friends and that everything can only be found in a relationship with Jesus.

Today is your day in the Son.

John3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Waiting is the hardest part...

Recently within the last week my spirit filled husband wakes me up with a kiss and says, " Today we are going to get good news!" I treasure his Faith in the Lord and living in the scripture that says, "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say REJOICE!"

I am spoiled to have such a  Godly man with great  Faith in the midst of this Wait to bring home our sweet son from Russia. I also find it comical that for the last week straight, when I have been home to see it, my little dogs wait too! At about 12 noon they seemingly get up from their naps or wherever they may be and sit very close to each other in a line! They stare at the door quietly. Maybe its the mailman? Maybe they are just bored or maybe they are having a meeting with Jesus..we are just not sure! Sitting this close to Nakita (black and white dog) warrants a snip or attack from her but Doug scoots up and stays without her making any notice!

We wait for the call and pray for our son, thank you for all your prayers we certainly feel them. God is beautiful. God is Faithful. God is our provider.

Today I prayed for the President and I'm not stopping there!

The President explaining his decision about the change in time policy to young scientists at the Kremlin Tuesday.

Good morning or evening..readers,prayer warriors and friends! As travel to Russia seems to draw near in our own minds I had found myself praying for the President this morning. More specifically, the Russian President who has a great name by the way, Dmitry Medvedev.

I long for a heart drawn towards the country as a whole. Many years of travel through the world has sent burdens of prayer on Marcos and my own heart for various people groups.

Just looking into their eyes on the streets of China, Korea,Ethiopia, Mexico, Holland or even the Luo in Kenya would bring me to my knees in prayer for their lives and eternal destiny. I grew to love the culture, traditions, families and leaders that I served there. I am praying for those same pure motives and desires as Marcos and I are given not only the miraculous chance to become a Mom and Dad but also live, eat and play among the people of Russia. If we are to be a light in the world, I certainly do not want to be dim or even unaware as we travel there. We want to be a Blessing.

Please pray that our Russian language skills increase for so many reasons. While Marcos loves so many people rather stoic or rude, loud or quiet, I have a tendency to only draw near to those with attributes I find attractive and enjoyable. The language barrier can offer a lazy option to not communicating or even trying to build relationships. I plead that God changes my heart to enjoy the moments we have to know our Russian brothers and sisters as we travel. I pray for courage to tell them that God loves them and I pray for sincerity in showing the attributes of our savior.

On an update.. we have not a peep! No recent letters from our son yet and as the phone goes with me everywhere we have not had THE CALL. However, your prayers do make a difference. Thank you and may God's peace cover you entirely today, with no anxious thoughts or feelings. God is faithful.

All that is good...

Hello everyone!  Last weekend we celebrated with a Winter kids Tournament that showed a wide variety of what our kids had learned in BJJ! It was an honor to be with the families that support and practice the art as well as the joy of the kids pursuing their medals for the day!

God orchestrated great wisdom to a praying Professor as he struggled with brackets for each pint sized competitor and some that were also topping the growth charts! Our biggest prayer was safety followed by fun and of course as little tears as possible for any kiddo coming in second. Our loving Father answered them all and here is a little video that testifies to a day of tournament frenzy, excitement and Joy! Thank you god for all of the marvelous generosity you have placed inside these Gracie Barra Springfield walls.

"Im not tall and i'm not short."

(photo in Juarez Mexico at a Children's village)

Today my beloved Marcos opened his email to find an email from our son! After no news since Christmas Day you can imagine our joy! In a previous email followed by several e-cards to mark his Special Day we had asked for his height, weight and shoe size? Well, we now know exactly two out of three! The best part is the revelation of his height ! He is my height....5'3! He weighs 108 pounds and Marcos said we will surely help him gain a few if I keep up this cooking streak I have been on!

An email like this is such simple news but it means God is looking out for our son everyday. It means he is growing into a young man and responding to questions. It is really a gift for us and our family to have any connection or communication with him while we wait. The grace God has poured out over my life with brain surgeries, mission journeys, a failed marriage and countless miracles is really only the beginning! Marcos can see it too and its a moment we cant take for granted! Thank you for your prayers. It was great to hear from our son!  It is incredible to see God work through this adoption!
